International Social Capital Association open_in_new
The first C3S Encounter was held as part of the Journey for Social Capital (Periplo por el Capital Social), an initiative promoted by the Innovation and Sociotechnology Program alongside the President of the International Social Capital Association, Tristan Claridge, who delivered the inaugural presentation of the Circle together with prominent community builders in Chile.

The cycle continued in November 2025 with the second encounter, titled "Praxis of Participatory Innovation: How to Make Highly Complex Challenges Governable". In this session, director Alfredo del Valle presented his methodology developed over more than 40 years, focusing on planning tools to address complex social problems.
Consensus Building Institute (CBI) open_in_new
The continuity of the Circle was strengthened in March 2026 with the third encounter, featuring the Consensus Building Institute (CBI). Led by Betsy Fierman, Melanie Gárate, and David Plumb, the talk focused on the "Mutual Gains Approach" and socio-environmental conflict resolution in Latin America.

Subsequently, in April, the fourth encounter took place, featuring the Presencing Institute under the title "Social Transformation and the Emerging Future: The Path Toward Ecosystem Leadership". Katrin Kaufer and Sebastián Jung guided the audience in exploring Theory U, emphasizing the need to connect with the "social field" and invisible purposes to create impact.

In May, the fifth encounter focused on territorial engagement with the presentation "When Social Relations Change: The Case of Balloon Latam". Sebastián Salinas, Juan Ignacio Cordero, Martín Salas, and Pamela Barroso detailed how their social enterprise model has strengthened cohesion in rural Chilean communities through entrepreneurship and innovation.

In June, the 1st Cycle of C3S Encounters concluded with the presentation "Biology of Cognition, Conversation, and Love: A Pathway to Building Social Capital", delivered by Professor Carlos Vignolo, director of the Innovation and Sociotechnology Program (PISCT). In this closing session, participants explored the intersection of radical constructivist philosophy, advances in neuroscience, and systems engineering as fundamental pillars for building Social Capital.
